“Conduit” and a dream of a ship
I have been in Bismarck almost a year now and a big part of my heart is here. I am half a sleep and I hear the word “conduit”. That is all I hear and I think I am really losing it. I can hardly pronounce the word let alone spell it and I have no idea what it means other than I have heard it in relationship to electricity. So, I just went to sleep.
This morning I get up and I am typing some letters to friends and suddenly I hear the word “conduit” again. I decide that I will look the word up later. As I am typing a letter to one of those friends I am looking for a word similar to canyon, but I can’t think of it. So I get the thesaurus out to look up canyon and it directs me to the word “conduit”, to which I said, “Okay, Lord, you got me. I’ll look it up.
I looked the word “conduit” up in the dictionary and found that it comes from two Latin words that mean “to lead” “together”. It has two meanings 1) a channel for conveying fluids and 2) a tube for electric wires. The second one was the one I was vaguely aware of. However, it is the first one that I believe applies to what the Lord is saying. The thesaurus listed other words like channel, duct, watercourse, aqueduct, canal and water gate. These things carry water from reservoirs, pools, cisterns, or springs to the places where it is to be used.
When I saw water gate, something clicked in my spirit and I knew there was a story in the Bible that centered around the water gate, but I could not remember what it was. So, I got out the concordance and found it. Nehemiah 8:1-10. Then I also thought of Hezekiah who built an aqueduct (conduit) to carry water into Jerusalem. The water could not be stopped even when the city was under siege. I also thought of a dream that I had back in June concerning Bismarck. The Lord reminded me of it because the dream was of a ship in a channel of water (conduit).
Here’s the dream
June 1996
I dreamed I was on an ocean liner and we were going into a long inlet only wide enough for one ship. The ship that I was on was a working ship. People were doing all kinds of things. There is cargo everywhere and men are preparing it to be unloaded. The ship is somewhat dirty, because it has been used for work and not pleasure. But, at first I didn’t really notice that fact. It seemed like a normal ship to me. Then I glanced back to the ocean where another ship was waiting to enter the inlet. This ship was beautiful, spotless, and it glistened in the sun. It was beautiful. I could hardly take my eyes off of the ship. I admired its beauty, but there was nothing in me that desired to be on that ship instead of the one that I was on at that time.
Suddenly, the captain appeared and I asked him where we were. He told me that it was Port Bismarck. I asked, “Bismarck, North Dakota?” He replied, “Yes”. I asked, “What happened to California?” He just smiled at me, glanced at the other ship and said, “Beautiful, isn’t she?” I replied, “Yes”.
He looked back at the ship we were on and his voice was sad. “Not much you can do to make a battleship beautiful, “An alarm went off in me. “Battleship!” I cried. “I thought this was a cargo ship”. He replied, “It is both”.
And suddenly I knew we were not just there to unload cargo. I asked the captain, “What is the name of this ship?” He looked at me in surprise. “You are on this ship and you don’t know its name?” I nodded. He said, “It is the Bismarck”. I said, “No, it can’t be. I have to get off this ship. It is going to sink.” Suddenly that beautiful ship sitting out on the ocean was where I wanted to be.
He replied, “No, this is the second Bismarck. We have learned our lessons and this one will not sink. We will do the job that we have been called on to do and then that ship (pointing to the beautiful ship) will be able to come in”.

(NOTE – 2025: This is written from that point in time. I would later have a revelation concerning the true Ekklesia and her mission. This will be noted throughout my writings as God built here a little, there a little, precept upon precept, line upon line. He moves us from understanding to understanding. At any moment we see through a glass darkly until God gives us some vision and understanding.)
So these are the things I see from this.
1) Just as the word “conduit” comes from words that mean to lead together, I believe that the Lord is going to continue to bring the leadership of His Church (NOTE – 2025 – The Ekklesia as Jesus is building, not just leadership) into greater unity and likeminded-ness.
2) Water signifies blessing – Our churches must be a channel of blessing to many that come inside the walls and to many outside of the walls. (NOTE – 2025 – The Ekklesia as Jesus is building has no walls. We are who we are in Christ 24/7, wherever we are.)
3) God is calling the body into a greater unity and a greater love for His word. Revelation will increase and there will be fresh bread in the house. There will be an increased hunger for His word, and many will cry out for more teaching, more training. Along with this will come a realization of what has been missed by being in a lethargic state for so long and there will be a desire to weep over the lost days and years, but God says it is not a time of weeping but a time of rejoicing for there is a great restoration coming.
4) There is going to be an increase in the word and an increase in the spirit and when spirit and word come together there will be an explosion of power.
5) Cargo ship – It is bringing supply and equipment for the job that lies ahead. It is bringing provision. There is going to be a massive equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry. Much has been done, but there will be more done this. It is a time of knowing where each one fits.
6) Battleship – The supply and the equipping does not come in without there being a battle. The enemy does not want this to happen. He knows if the delivery is made and the cargo is unloaded, then the beautiful ship can come in. The devil will fight this. He will fight it using people in the midst of the congregation and he will fight it with people from the community.
It also signifies that in order for this all to happen there will need to be a concentrated effort of the prayer warriors to do battle in the spirit realm. God is going to teach the church (NOTE – 2025 – The Ekklesia as Jesus is building)some things about spiritual birthing.
7) The beautiful ship – this is the glory ship. It cannot come in until preparations have been made. Until the stage has been set. Until the battle is won. Until things are in there place according to the plan of God. This ship is also a picture of the Bride. God is calling us into holiness and we will have a deeper revelation of what that is. And it will require some change in our theology.
8) When the conduit has been built and the water is flowing and bringing in supply and blessings, then when the enemy tries to lay siege and stop the moving of the Spirit, just like the aqueduct (conduit) of Hezekiah’s day, the supply will not be cut off.
All that from one little word “conduit”.
